Prototype Z (Photos 17)
New Center Pedestal

My COMPLETED EFIS panel! The FPV and and MTRS buttons have been located.

20 of the 90+ 1" Eaton/Korry switches have been located. I have found double as many electromechanical caps, but haven't been able to find housings for them.

Left: A GND PRX panel from a B747-400. The switches basically match up to the 777 landing gear panel 100%. Right: A display select panel from the glareshield. This one is from a B767-400.

Pictures 1 and 2 are of my glareshield, which is currently about 95% complete. The missing buttons are enroute at this time. You can see Daren and Chris holding two of the components in the photo below! I was finally able to build up a TCAS/ATC unit as well. I am currently trying to build up a newer version. The backplate and the blank black panel will be painted the correct color.

The new center pedestal is now comprised of almost all real modules. A few parts from Aircraft Simulators are used as sustitutes. You can notice some color differences in the modules, but it still looks great when installed in the sim! As exact parts become available, they will replace what is here.

More real parts have been collected for the project. The photo on the far right includes samples from the collection. Finally got enough 1" Korry/Eaton switches for the entire simulator, except the overhead. The guarded ones have been ESPECIALLY difficult to get!

Some very notable sim builders came over to visit, from the UK! From left to right are: Robert Prather (Me), Kev, Daren Knightbridge, Kev Saker, and Chris Brett. I caught Daren trying to steal my MCP, but fortunately it's not easily concealed!!
