Glareshield Installed
June 9, 2002

Here are some photos of the initial mounting phases of my glareshield. Over the next few
days, this section will be painted the proper color, and cutouts will be made for the
instrument panel flood lights. The glareshield is designed to be mounted over a 19"
monitor without interferance, and all lightplates are still functional.

Some extremely rare and necessary hardware is
shown here. I've finally located the landing light switches that I need for my sim. I
already had 3 of them, but they didn't match, and I finally ended up ravaging the matching
switches from an L-1011 light panel. Also shown are some Korry switch mounting sleeves, a
switch guarded Korry pushbutton (like the ones used on the Fuel Jettison panel), and
something VERY precious to me... The 3 vaguely visible units at the top-right of the photo
on the left are the actual MCP LEDs from a B777!! I don't think they work anymore, so I'll
have to work some magic on them!

I have found L-1011 panels to be a great source of
harware for the 777 after proper refurbishing and conversion. Those 3 landing light
switches will be of the UTMOST importance, and those Korry pushbuttons with switch guards
will occupy neceesary locations on the flight deck. The photo to the right is a
"dusk" shot showing off the volume control knobs, and some unoccupied spaces due
to hardware spacing conflict. The conflict is minor, and will be easily solved.

I can't have a photo set without the
"green" shots! You can see that the left side of the center pedestal is almost
complete (missing transmit buttons on ACP and LEDs from RMPs). The right side will follow
very soon, as soon as I get my GF-166 radio tuning panels from Go Flight.
